UI Design
Overview
A project I had to pitch for, this involved research from the outset. This was an adaption of an existing boardgame to educate about the importance of water conservation in Malawi. I worked as the designer, adapting the design for a tablet game.
Pitch
I worked on the pitch for this project alone. I made sure to research who we were pitching to, in order to better tailor the pitch to their suggestions. I also broke up the pitch into categories, to make for easier reading, such as introducing difficulty, design considerations and possible expansion.
Adaption
Through adapting this to a digital medium, there was more leeway for things to be tracked as the player does not need to do this anymore. A lot of this work included translating the existing documents into something more understandable for the developers. I did this by taking what we were handed by the client, and translating this to a more visual medium.
UI Design
I also designed the UI on this project. There was a lot of information to be shown, and there was a requirement that this would be easy to understand for not only young children, but also people who were non-native English speakers. This effected how visually the information must be presented, as well as how concepts are explained.
